ORA-12520: TNS:listener could not find available handler for requested type of server

    None of the known and available service handlers for requested type of server (dedicated or shared) are appropriate for the client connection.


    Run "lsnrctl services" to ensure that the instance(s) have registered with the listener and that the appropriate handlers are accepting connections.



    If this is the case, you might want to check out the listener.log file, typically residing under the %ORACLE_HOME%\network\log or $ORACLE_HOME/network/log directory.



    If this error is followed by a TNS-12516: TNS:listener could not find available handler with matching protocol stack error message, it might be that the number of connections (threads on NT or processes on Unix) reached the PROCESSES database parameter limit.
